  5. GAME INSTALLATION

  7. If you have Windows 95, you can install the game by double-clicking the
  8. "Install" shortcut on the CD-ROM.
  9.  
  10. If you have Windows 3.1, from the Program Manager choose "Run" from the
  11. "File" menu, and type:

  13.         D:\INSTALL.EXE
  14.  
  15. (If your CD-ROM drive's letter is something other than D, substitute that
  16. letter for "D".)

  19. READING THE MANUAL

  21. From Windows 95, double-click the "Murder.wri" file on the CD-ROM.

  23. From Windows 3.1, open the "Write" accessory, and use it to open the
  24. "Murder.wri" file on the CD-ROM.

  27. TROUBLESHOOTING -- IF YOU DON'T SEE THE MOVIE CLIPS

  29. If you don't see the video clips in the game, you'll need to install the
  30. version of Video For Windows that "Murder, She Wrote" uses.

  32. From Windows 95, double-click the "VFW" folder on the CD-ROM.  Then
  33. double-click the "Setup" icon.

  35. From Windows 3.1, from the Program Manager choose "Run" from the "File"
  36. menu, and type:

  44. TROUBLESHOOTING -- VIDEO CARD-RELATED PROBLEMS

  46. Murder She Wrote is designed to operate in a full screen mode at 640 x 480
  47. screen resolution.  It is recommended that the video driver for your
  48. video card be set at 640 x 480 resolution with 16 or 24 bit color.

  50. These programs have been tested on a number of video drivers.  Known
  51. problems have been found with the following video drivers:

  53. Diamond Stealth 64 1MB: Jigsaw pieces may not draw properly.
  54.  
  55. Trident 640 x 480 256 color: May cause a General Protection Fault when
  56. using the Magnifying Glass in Murder She Wrote.
